To play the UK national lottery you must first obtain a playslip. The national lottery playslip has a number of boxes on it, called ‘boards’. From these boards you need to select six numbers by marking them on the board. If you would like your numbers selected at random you need to select the ‘Lucky Dip’ option next to the board.
As the draw is now twice a week, on a Wednesday and a Saturday, you must select which draw you want it for. You can, if you would like to play both and select the same numbers, select the ?Both? box.
When you’ve paid, you will receive a National Lottery Ticket, when the draw occurs you need to check your numbers against those called, and if you match six numbers with the six numbers called then you are a jackpot winner! You can also win by matching five, four or even three numbers out of the six!
There will also be a seventh ‘bonus number’ drawn, where if you have matched 5 or more main numbers, the bonus number gives you the chance of winning the second highest prize! If no one has chosen the six main numbers drawn, then no one wins the jackpot prize, and so it is rolled over until the next draw!
